SME Bank held a discussion meeting with GS1 Cambodia of the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce

Phnom Penh, August 5, 2026 – SME Bank, led by Mr. CHEA Sophak, CEO, held a meeting with GS1 Cambodia under the Cambodian Chamber of Commerce.

The meeting aimed to strengthen cooperation and promote training courses for SMEs across Cambodia, to enhance competitiveness, support business development, and expand market access and exports.

During the discussion, SME Bank presented its mission, vision, and financial solutions designed to support local SMEs. In parallel, GS1 Cambodia emphasized the importance of implementing GS1 international standards and the use of barcodes in supply chain management, which enhance customer confidence and expand market reach both domestically and internationally.

SME Bank participated as a speaker and co sponsor of the workshop ‘Financing Readiness for Digital Business Development for MSMEs’ in Kandal Province

The delegation from SME Bank of Cambodia paid a visit to the Policy Research Institute (PRI), the Ministry of Finance, Japan; and the Micro Business and Individual Unit, Japan Finance Corporation (JFC-Micro)

On May 20,2024, in Tokyo, H.E Dr. PHAN Phalla, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Economy and Finance and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SME Bank of Cambodia presided over and led the delegates that included the Board of Directors, and the senior management of the Bank. The delegation paid a visit to the Policy Research Institute (PRI), the Ministry of Finance, Japan; and the Micro Business and Individual Unit, Japan Finance Corporation (JFC-Micro).
