SME Bank Participates in Seminar on “Business Plan Strategy and Financial Management and Forecasting” in Kompot Province

Kompot Province, August 19 to 20, 2026 – SME Bank proudly joined the seminar on “Business Plan Strategy and Financial Management and Forecasting,” organized by Khmer Enterprise.

The seminar was designed for micro, small, and medium‑sized enterprises (MSMEs), aiming to strengthen their capacity to develop effective business plans and gain a deeper understanding of procedures for accessing formal financing to support sustainable growth.

SME Bank’s participation reflects its strong commitment to empowering local enterprises. The training not only enhanced strategic and financial management skills but also fostered collaboration and opened pathways for business owners to access formal capital, enabling them to expand, compete, and thrive in the market.

The Cambodian financial market is developing rapidly and approaching the saturation stage. However, most commercial banks and MFIs are introducing both cash-flow and collateral-based lending. In general, they required real-estate property such as land and/or building to be served as collateral. According to the feedback from the market, some small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are not able to get loans from banks or MFIs due to collateral requirements.
