Phnom Penh, On the morning of Monday, May 11, 2026, at the headquarters of SME Bank, a signing ceremony was held for the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between SME Bank and the Cambodia Food Producers Association. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Chea Sophak, CEO of SME Bank, and H.E. Miev Sokthry, President of the Cambodia Food Manufacture Association (CFMA), with the participation of senior representatives from both institutions.
It is worth noting that the cooperation between the two institutions was initially established through the signing of the first Memorandum of Understanding on November 4, 2022, and remained in effect until November 3, 2025. Building upon the positive achievements of the previous collaboration, SME Bank and the CFMA have agreed to strengthen their strategic partnership further once again. The renewed collaboration aims to enhance access to financing and promote business development for members operating in the food production sector, increase production capacity, and create greater opportunities for Cambodian products to enter international markets through expanded exports.
Through this MoU, members of CFMA will be eligible to apply for financial schemes from SME Bank, including an additional 0.25% reduction in interest rates. This initiative is intended to support development, strengthen production supply chains, and expand business operations for sustainable growth and greater competitiveness.
