JOB OVERVIEW
The employee will be responsible for mitigating the bank’s credit risk to an optimum level by providing sound credit assessments in line with the Bank’s lending direction before they are submitted for decision and effectively managing the Credit Assessment Team. He/she is also responsible for participating in credit-related policy/procedure development and providing credit assessment training to all credit-related personnel.
JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct an assessment of the quality of loan applications submitted by BUs, then highlight all risk concerns and provide sound recommendations to the approving authority for decision-making.
- Check and validate provided documentation and information, including but not limited to the purpose of fund utilization, business registration, and ownership, financial documents, collaterals, etc., to ensure all credit proposals follow all requirements in relevant policy/regulation and recommend loan grading per regulator’s guidelines.
- Conduct site visits to the business premises and collaterals as and when required.
- Communicate the approval decision to respective relationship staff.
- Organize and facilitate the Credit Committee meeting and take minutes, if requested by the Line Manager.
- Review disbursement requests on fulfilments of pre-disbursement conditions and circulate for approval.
- Review change requests submitted by BUs to discuss with the line manager before circulating for approval.
- Work closely with RO/RM/Loan Monitoring & Recovery to support for Restructure and Reschedule
- Actively collaborate with the Business Unit to facilitate pre-deal discussion, structuring of appropriate credit solutions, loan portfolio quality, loan growth, and finding the best solutions to enhance the credit process
- Support the initiative of new credit products/lending programs introduced by Management by providing input on credit risk, compliance matters, and workflow and assessment procedure establishment.
- Assist in developing relevant credit policies and procedures and continuously improve them in response to changes in regulation and market.
- Provide sufficient training to Relationship staff and Assessment team on credit policy and procedures, if requested by the Line Manager.
- Assist and manage the team member turnaround time at target SLA
- Develop and improve team performance reporting tools to keep track of the status of each loan application and staff evaluation purpose.
- Constantly support reviewing and analyzing the portfolio concentrations to manage portfolio risk and make recommendations to improve and mitigate lending risk.
- Provide coaching and mentoring and ensure staff capacity is continuously developed.
- Perform the assigned tasks with high integrity and professional conduct.
- Perform other related duties assigned by the Management.
PERSON SPECIFICATION KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCES
- Holding at least a bachelor’s degree in Banking & Finance, Accounting, or a related field
- Obtaining at least 5-year Credit experience and more than 03 years in Credit Assessment
- Having acceptable knowledge of good credit practices, customer protection concepts, and responsible lending to avoid negative impacts on the environment and society.
- Being able to produce and present necessary reports using computer applications such as Ms. Word, Ms. Excel, Power Point, etc.
- Experiencing in a competitive working environment
